New XBMC Frodo Confluence Themes

For those of you using the upcoming XBMC Frodo 12.0 I have brought over some of the themes I created for the mod. they come in at about 2.2 megs a piece keeping things lite, and lite is good if your using an ATV2, Android or the Rasberry Pi as your media center.. I have added the default blue,red,green along with orange, yellow, purple and pink.They can be gotten from here Frodo-Confluence-Themes , either using git clone, or downloading the zipped up contents. All is required is to copy the backgrounds to the backgrounds , colors to colors and media content to the media directories found within skin.confluence found in the addons directory and your ready to go. You might of noticed a few theme colors I didn't mention in the list above,and they will probably be brought over shortly as well. Frodo is still under heavy development and so is confluence so these themes may change from time to time as new images are added and or removed so I would suggest using the git and checking periodically for changes.

Yet Another Confluence Mod

I'm a bit fond of my orange theme, I think it looks rather nice with our newly added advanced color settings in the confluence lite mod, you can get more information on it in the xbmc forums. All my themes are available from git and is still under development so if you want to try it out expect a few bumps in the road from time to time. Though if there is any they are quickly fixed.. The themes also work with the confluence lite them which will be available with the next stable release of XBMC.But it wont get as many colors on the main menu as the mod version does. Better yet if you have any know how, or some great ideas sign up at XBMC Forum and join our team. Testers are always welcome, new ideas are always a plus, especially if they come with development skills. But they are not a requirement. Some of the great features of the Confluence Lite Mod over the standard mod is the ability to add just about everything to the menu, or remove just about everything from it also. Meaning one can make it more child proof compared to other skins. It also shows more of the latest videos added on the main menu with less clicks of the remote. Playlists can be setup on the menu and the videos can be random or recently added, and they can also be clicked and played. I have created playlists for every genre for hulu and netflix and add the shortcuts to my library which makes them appear as though they are in my collection in a nice looking display compared to having to load up a web browser or have them presented in a way someone else wanted them presented to me I have them laid out the way I want them to be. There is also a nice script called Thumbcleaner which will clean the library of old images left behind from things removed from the system. Another one called MyLibrary that adds video from many sites to ones collection to stream. Saves me alot of time having to go from site to site to watch videos. With time I was able to toss out the cable box and stick with my XBMC and over the air Television. And the real fun thing about it is walking into each room and control all devices with an android phone and tablet. Remember the scenes in Star Trek where they were checking the computer from a handheld tablet, we are living those days now. So let your inner geek out and let it play, have fun and meet new and interesting people.

Transkrypto Confluence Lite Theme

As anyone can see this was inspired by the Kryptonite theme by Jezz_X with the use of transparency tossed in with a nice glowing backdrop.. It's as bad on the eyes as one might think.. really its not.. lol.

Lime Conflience Lite Theme Double Take

Translime as I previous called it is a double take on the lime theme, using more media from transparency and a splash here and there of my own, there is a change in the backdrop and few other little goodies. Not as easy on the eyes for some, but to others they see it as candy.

Transfire Confluence Lite Theme

TransFire is inspired by Fire theme by Jezz_X and the Transparency skin by Ronie. A nice collaboration of two intermixed I might say. wait.. I just did..

Grey Confluence Light Theme

Not Really a deal breaker but some people prefer to get away from color all together. Hence the need for something of darker tone of grey, black and white.

Sea Green Confluence Lite Theme

This one I call Sea Green, It has a bit of a bad rap.. LoL!! I have gotten a few choose words about its brightness and intensity and how the color was sickening. But I'm a bit fond of it, so I am going to keep it around for the time being.

Baby Blue Confluence Lite Theme

Baby Blue, or my attempt at it.. :) Hopefully I created a blue to everyone's liking, if not, as I've stated open source is a wonderful thing and the resources are out there, and I would be more then happy to help you get started, or at least direct you in the right direction to get the info you need. Dislikes are always welcome, but demanding behavior in an open society with open source is something no one should tolerate. After all the tools are out there, the resources are available, all it takes is some work, after all who said freedom was free anyway. :P Don't get me going on politics I will go on forever.

Dark Blue Confluence Lite Theme

A Bit of a darker blue theme for those that don't like the baby blue or lite blue themes as much, or just in the mood for something a bit less light intensive.

Lite Blue Conflunce Lite Theme

This is my lite blue theme, its a take on the default confluence lite them and the default colors of the transparency skin. Not as much in your face as some of the other colors that I have previously presented to you and some of those yet to come, but a good center. Works well for most people.

Yellow Confluence Lite Theme

Another well liked theme, it keeps evolving also, banana yellow. Some people are ape over it but others claim its way to bright. Like I've stated before all to their own, and along this journey I will eventually create something everyone can at least settle on, and if not the resources are out there, one of the wonderful things about open source is that ability to take something and make it better or at the least make it to ones liking.

Purple Confluence Lite Theme

Moving right along here is a taste of grape. This is my purple pack, not so easy on the eyes as the wooden theme or the orange, but just as tasty as the orange and the pink. The pink always reminds me of cotton candy, the fair and tooth aches. I am still wrestling with the right backdrop to go with it this set, any suggestions? It has to be open source.

Wooden Confluence Lite Theme

Another popular one that gets alot of attention has been my wooden theme, though I am always adding a bit here and there upon it, work in progress. I really like the wooden and golden look with a splash of cream, it's easy on the eyes looks good on a big screen and works well with many different backdrops. Which are background images to those that are not familiar with the terms used in the XBMC community. The folders will probably be get a bit of a facelift here and there with a splash of cream soon to go with the advanced color set which only worked with the modded version of confluence lite, which I will discuss a bit later in my articles.

Orange Confluence Lite Theme

Here is one I like to take a bit of pride in, easy on the eyes, and looks so good you might want to eat it.. Orange is not only a flavorite of mine but also many others. As you can see by the last two images there is two styles transparency and classic confluence so far.

Pink Confluence Lite Theme

I thought I would kick things off by presenting some images of my pink theme, after all ladies first right.. And doesn't Cali Lewis look hot in pink, a woman that knows her tech and beautiful at the same time. Well Enough about Cali, if you want to know more about her check out GeekbeatTv in your google search engine or add the plugins to your xbmc, and you will more then likely agree with me. As you can see here the folder view is using a nice combination of the default confluence images mixed with folder images taken from the Transparency skin, which is another nice skin worth checking out if your new to XBMC.Thanks Ronie for giving me the right to modify them and add them into my themes. You may be thinking wheres the fanart. I thought I would present this one without it showing, just to show that one can have a nice looking media center without all the fancy artwork like fanart etc bogging a slower system down, hence the beauty of its light and fluffiness. To those interested I also create all these themes in two different versions, those with default confluence images colorized and lightly modified here and there and the transparency set, with yet more on the horizon, I'm having too much fun.. :P
